Pollution of Nepal – Types, Reason, Problem & Solution

 Introduction

Climate change is a global issue. The best way to help mitigate climate change is by reducing emissions and adopting energy-efficient technologies. In this blog, we will present the current status of climate change in Nepal and the environmental challenges facing Nepal. We will discuss the causes of pollution in Nepal, its effects on the environment, and ways to address it. Finally, we will recommend measures to promote cleaner environments and reduce pollution in Nepal.

What is pollution?

Pollution is a term that is used to refer to the scattering or scattering of pollutant substances, especially as a result of man-made activity.

A few problems that have been observed include:

1. The degradation of water resources.

2. The increase in the concentration of suspended particles.

3. The excessive release of toxic compounds into the environment.

4. The rise in airborne particulate matter (PM) and dust.

5. The increased incidence of respiratory diseases such as asthma or bronchitis.

Pollution of Nepal - Types, Reason, Problem & Solution

Types of pollution

Different types of pollution can be seen in Nepal. Pollution is mostly categorised into 4 types. They are as below.

1. Water Pollution

2. Air Pollution

3. Land Pollution

4. Sound Pollution

Reason of Pollution

There are many reasons for this. The main reasons for this are:

1. The development of large cities without planning increased their environmental impact and the resulting effect is felt all over the Country.

2. Excessive use of chemical fertilisers in the soil has reduced the production capacity.

3. People living in such areas tend to live close to highways, which leads to more pollution.

4. The use of motor vehicles leads to emissions of pollutants like carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOX), and particulate matter.

5. When the river water is polluted by sewage from cities or industries it causes algae growth on its surface, which then leads to a reduction of oxygen levels in a river.

 Problems of Pollution in Nepal

Pollution has taken a terrible turn in Nepal. Its effects have been seen in various fields. Production on arable land is declining. There is a shortage of clean air in the market area. People are starting to get various respiratory diseases. Problems such as flu and hearing loss have become common. Due to the noise in the market area, people have started seeing mental problems. Even the weather has become erratic. Signs of desertification are beginning to appear in places like Mustang. This environment is a serious threat to the people and nature of Nepal.Pollution pollutes the air, rivers, and soil, especially in different areas. Experts say that pollution is also creating problems for Nepal’s economy, as it acts as a drag on tourism, hindering growth in an increasingly diverse country.

Way to reduce pollution in Nepal

Many people have noticed that Nepal is becoming a hot spot for pollution. It is not only a problem in the air but also in the water and soil. Nepal is one of the countries with a high population density, which means that pollution affects everyone. There are several ways to reduce these types of pollution. The first way to stop pollution is through controlling its sources. The second way is by reducing the amount of waste generated by trying to spread awareness about how much waste can be saved through recycling and other waste reduction methods. The third way can be to invest in renewable energy sources that do not have negative effects on the environment, such as wind power, solar power, and hydroelectric power plants. The fourth way to reduce this type of pollution is through banning or limiting certain kinds of industries from polluting our waterways within the country or around it.

Solution of pollution in Nepal

Pollution has been an ongoing problem in Nepal. This can be due to a number of factors, including the lack of awareness, poverty, and economic stress. With these problems affecting the nation, it is important that more people pay attention to what is going on around them and take steps to help solve the issues.

1. Educating citizens about what pollution is and why it must not be allowed to continue.

2. Informing citizens about how they can make a difference by using their thoughts and actions.

3. Developing new ways to monitor and reduce pollution.

4. Providing people with information on how they can help address pollution.

5. It seems that the government should take the immediate initiative by making various plans for a permanent solution to pollution.

 Conclusion

The pollution issue has existed for a long time in Nepal. The problem is not only the pollution but the people that are involved in it. People have been dying of pollution. One of the biggest issues is the lack of awareness among people and the government to solve this problem. If we want to solve any problem, we should first admit that we have a problem before trying to find a solution for it. We should reflect on our actions and make changes accordingly if we still have a problem.
