What is the easiest way to get to the Rara park from Kathmandu?

Rara Lake can be easily reached in a four-wheel vehicle from Kathmandu to Nepaljung or Surkhet.Then You can take Flights from Raja Airport at Nepalganj in Banke and from Surkhet to Talcha in Mugu can be use. Or You can direct reach Jumla headquarter from Kathmandu by bus.


After landing at Talcha airport, you can reach Rara in a few hours’ walk. However, if you travel by air from Kathmandu, you can reach Rara in two days and come to Kathmandu. Morning flight from Kathmandu to Nepaljung. You can go to Talcha airport again from Nepaljung.

Rara can be reached in two hours from Talcha. Even if you stay in Rara for one night with a full backpack, you can easily reach Kathmandu by air the next day. Air routes have made Rara close by. However, the air route is not suitable for the picturesque hills of Kalikot, Dailekh, Jumla and Mugu and Patan.

The most convenient way for pedestrians to go to Rara Lake is to reach Jumla Sudarmukam. However, one can go through Sinja valley from Nagma before reaching Jumla headquarters. Damphalek can be reached in about three hours’ walk from Jumla headquarters. When you reach Danfe Lake, there is no place to drink water in between. You have to carry water yourself.

Rara can be reached by crossing the high hill while going to Vayapatti. However, if you take the other way, you can reach the place in Jhyari. There is no easy way to reach Jhyari. The forest path should go straight down. There is also a hotel for breakfast in Jhyari. From Jhyari, one can reach Patan near Rara after a journey of about three hours
